Extraordinary Mahler 2 BBC Proms/Bolivar/Dudamel

Post by AndyCat »

Just watched an immense Mahler 2 on the BBC in the UK from the Proms.

Miah Persson (soprano), Anna Larsson (mezzo-soprano), National Youth Choir of Great Britain, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, Gustavo Dudamel (conductor).

If you can find any way of getting around the region restrictions, it's a must watch.

Thanks for the link!

I guess it goes to a video in the UK. Here it came with sound only. Of course I missed the Dudamel-Bolivar visual show, but great anyway.

Is the video, but they are very region specific. Give it a try maybe?

Thanks again, Andy!

When it comes to copyright in the AV-business, I think they have guarded themselves pretty well against work-arounds. Yet they have the courtesy to let your original link play the sound. Your second lind refers to the option of hearing the music from another page.

I am in the EU, so I don’t even know whether the Americans or others outside the EU can hear the sound. Anyway the easiest way to do so is to use your original link.

I have some understanding about the video not being available outside the UK. The Proms concertos are sold to each country separately for a TV channel there to broadcast. So they don’t want to undercut themselves from that market. And especially the Germans are crazy about the Bolivar orchestra.
