That Conn is LIGHT! Super player, great (rebuilt) valves, nice long 1st slide so I don't have to have that redone like the King (will probably have a ring put on the top of it), great sound,... It's kinda sharp overall and the receiver/mouthpipe might be too small to fit my Bach 18 that I used on my last one. I might get the main tuning slide retubed on the inners. Intonation is pretty good so far (last one was great) and get this- an IN TUNE low D!
I've literally had people tell me they could feel the floor vibrate with my last one so I'm looking forward to playing this horn in groups. The King is shaky enough intonation wise, though perfect enough in every other way, that I've not really played anywhere in a while.The horn is pretty clean overall, perhaps not perfect enough to make it a project horn (4/5 valves) but I know of a cheaper top action one in the area. 3+1/2 or flip to front 4/5?
