I played a Conn Helleberg 120S on my Conn 20J. It worked well.

Don't ask for this sort of advice. The answer is subjective. This means that what works well for me might not necessarily work well for you. You need to go to a music shop that sells Tuba mouthpieces and ask to try a few out or call someone who sells them and ask to try a few out on a trial or approval period.

Always try new mouth pieces on YOUR TUBA. This seems like common sense advice, but you would be surprised. Try new mouth pieces with music that you know well. Don't try to work out new material when you are trying a new mouth piece, it won't serve you well.

This is HONESTLY the best advice I could offer, but I am just some rube and these are my goofy opinions.

As Bloke implies, the 2XJ Conns are not fussy instruments. If you like bowl cups, a Bach 7 or 18 will be fine. If you like funnel cup mouthpieces, a Helleberg will be fine. If you don't already have either of these mouthpieces, try whatever you have. It will probably sound OK.

Perhaps I should rephrase my question to "What MPC do you use in a CONN 2XJ?"

Thanks
