Mouthpiece Query

Post by tclements »

I have been using a PT-88 with my Willson 3050 RZ-5. I am not really happy with it. Can you suggest a mouthpiece that would be more compatible?

Thanks!

I've been playing the piston version for 16 years. I've used a Monette, Dillon M1C, MF3 and 3B. The MF pieces have worked best, so far. Those are the pieces I've used to test the 3050RZs (I LOVE those). I recently got one of the stainless steel Deck pieces that is proving to have a nice sound but I haven't had the opportunity to try it in concert or rehearsal. Happy Hunting.

I can agree with Tom Gregory here. The Mike Finns are great big mouthpieces that really open up a 5/4 rotor CC. I am looking to sell a Mike Finn MF-3B if you're interested. It's two two satin/gold and in VERY good shape. PM me if you're at all interested.
