Ozawa CSO Pictures at an Exhibition
This incredible recording has been reissued and is available for about $8 via ArkivMusic.com
http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/alb ... _id=553466
This is one of only two recordings where Jake played Bydlo (the other being Kubelik) and the entire recording is spectacular. Do not miss it!

I believe the original recording was 1968.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Does Jake not play it on the Reiner/CSO recording of Pictures? Overall, that is my favorite recording of the piece. I believe it was recorded in 1958.Frank Byrne wrote: This is one of only two recordings where Jake played Bydlo (the other being Kubelik) and the entire recording is spectacular. Do not miss it!

That recording was done on euphonium. Robert Rada I think.Does Jake not play it on the Reiner/CSO recording of Pictures? Overall, that is my favorite recording of the piece. I believe it was recorded in 1958.

Robert Lambert played Bydlo on the Reiner recording of "Pictures". I was lucky enough to talk to Mr. Lambert about that session. He had to go home on his lunch break to get his euphonium. He called it a "nervous train ride". His is my favorite Bydlo as well.
