4-valve Piston CC Tubas?
I'm curious to know what tubas are out there with four piston valves (I really haven't missed a fifth valve). When my Miraphone 186 sells, I'd like to replace it in the future with a piston horn. I know about the Yamaha 621 and the similar Weril tuba. What else is out there? (more toward the 4/4 side of things) Thanks!

Meinl-Weston 2144 (4 valve version of a 2145).
Hirsbrunner HB -1P is a 4 valve version of an HB-2P.
Conn 2j
Conn 3j
Yes, I acknowledge that the Conns are small "under 4/4 sized."
Then there's always the goobers that have the 5th valves removed from their Conn 56J tubas.

Duh, I should have remembered the Conns, I thought about buying one a while ago. I'm compiling a list for down the road after we get through a little financial difficulty (which is why we're selling the 186) and can save up for another horn. Keep that list coming! Thanks!

What about the Fillmore at Dillon Music? Is that a BBb that's been cut down to CC?

Although Kanstul is advertising their model 90 York-like 4/4 CC as a 4-piston, 5th rotor instrument, it is also available as a 4-piston instrument as a custom order from the factory. I have had two recent orders for the BBb front-valve instrument as a 4-valve instead of 5-valve, and they are very nicel indeed. The best part is, they cost less than the 5-valve model and are lighter in weight.

Also Miraphone makes a 1291 piston tuba.
