FF tuba mpc

Hey all,
Just wondering what is a good mouthpiece for FF tuba. I have an FF on the way and i was wondering what people out there are using.

"FF"? Is that a tuba that only plays fortissimo or a 24-foot subcontrabass (like that one-off that Amati built years ago)?

I like the PT-64S for my Firebird. I assume it's the Jin Bao Firebird copy. Others that people seem to like: Laskey 28F, Blokepiece, PT-65, Giddings & Webster Baer, Bobo Solo

In your defense, I was pretty sure you didn't mean a FF sub-contra tuba, I thought you meant you were going to play your new f at FF!

Honestly, I would go somewhere I could try a bunch of mouthpieces, regardless of whether they're "f tuba mouthpieces" or not. Find what works for you (and the tuner!), and bring a trusted friend to let you know what they think of the sound you're producing. It might actually be helpful to do this once you've settled into the horn with your existing mouthpiece first.

Ok that sounds like i a good idea, i will play it with mouthpiece i have with my Eb tuba and then when the tuba conference comes to fort meyer, i will try out several there, i have several different people i could go with, thanks for the advice

personally I'm a fan of the PT-70. It's a little smaller than the pt 50, but still big enough that the low register doesn't get choked off, while still allowing the high register to be not too difficult. Was personally recommended to my by Daniel Parantoni at TMEA and I don't regret getting it for a second.

You may want to consider waiting a little while and trying one of the two new Parke-Ofenloch F/Eb mouthpieces. The mouthpieces are in the final stages of testing, and we will hopefully have them out VERY soon. Keep posted!

If you want a V cup mouthpiece for a darker sound, the Floyd Cooley helleberg works for ensemble use
Old standby: Mirafone c4 and open the backbore slightly

I LOVE my original Parke Ofenloch on my PT6 and have always wanted a proportionately equivalent F tuba mouthpiece. I have an F tuba Ofenloch on order now. They gave me a couple different options for rim width and shank and if it doesn't work out I can send it back. If it's everything I hope it to be(likely) it'll be something very special indeed. Gary Ofenloch is a very savvy guy(never met him but I admire from a distance) and the Parkes are great to work with and produce a very special product.

Yamaha 67C4 works great, it was selected sight unseen by me from the Tuba Exchange for a Rudy Meinl F; intonation is matched to the horn.

Where do you buy Parke Ofenloch mouthpieces?

I just picked up a JK 5E that works extremely well with my Yamaha YFB 621.
Nice colorful sound and comfortable rim.

i talked to him on facebook, and there is an F moutpiece coming out in a few weeks, so hopefully it will be out when my F gets in, i would love to try one
