Hi all! I've got a problem. When I play my tuba it is slanted to the right and with it being a 6/4 horn it slides on my legs. Which becomes a problem when playing sometimes. Now this isn't a huge problem or I would have askedc for help a long time ago I would just like to try and prevent this. Is there some sort of fabric or something that could be wrapped around the bottom bow to help prevent sliding on my legs? And another question. Does anyone have an opinion on a great gig bag for a Conn 25J upright bell tuba. What company makes them that big and of great quality?
Thanks again!

Re: tuba sliding
A friend of mine who plays a CB-50 uses one of those knee braces and wraps it around the bottom bow. He's used it for a number of years and is quite happy with it.

Or... you can get some of that rubber shelf liner that's also in black.

Re: tuba sliding
Altieri made my gig bag for my 25J. They have the measurements and put out a great product.

Re: tuba sliding
Try a length of rubber mesh shelf/drawer liner, available in rolls from the dollar store and other fine merchants. Lay it in the lap and no more slipping.
However, I prefer using a tuba stand.

+1, I use shelf liner with Eb and F and a tuba stand with CC and BBbTry a length of rubber mesh shelf/drawer liner, available in rolls from the dollar store and other fine merchants. Lay it in the lap and no more slipping.
