Hey Kevin: Do you get a special rate on internet access? I paid a lot on a cruise last year...

When this thread originated, I was a band director in a small, rural Texas town. My job included band 6-12, plus general music K-5. As soon as I could, I retired from that profession. I am now a free-lance tuba player, teach private lessons, and also work as a low brass clinician. Most of my work as a performer is with one of two German-type groups that I perform with. The TubaMeisters is a tuba-euph group that has become fairly popular at fests and private parties, in this area. We actually earn a fair amount of money. I also perform with a more traditional group known as The Sauerkrauts. At certain times of the year, this group is very busy, and travels over much of the continental U.S.
The work in the public schools was extremely stressful. I didn't realize how stressful until I left. I am a much happier man, these days. I still get to work with kids, and have little contact with administrators.

I am a commerical dishwashing machine service tech. I fix dish machines in restaurants, hotels, hosipitals and such. Yeah , I know ... sounds really boring ..... and it is.
My first cousin holds a terminal degree from the Univ. of Illinois (nothing to do with hospital "anything"). She is now in charge of the department in a hospital where they sterilize and set up instruments for operations (right before those trays of selected sterilized instruments go up a dumbwaiter into the O.R.). I'm glad that someone of that level of intelligence and dedication is in charge of such an important department.
Darn. Wrong ship. I'll be on the Navigator of the Seas in 3 weeks.
