Tuba and Piano CD

Post by Ian1 »

Hi everyone.

I am in the planning stages to record a new Tuba CD in the UK.

Pieces I have decided on are:

Strauss Horn Concerto No.1
Salzedo Sonata for Tuba and Piano
Arnold Fantasy
Concerto for Double Bass - Capuzzi

Gabriel's Oboe
Bach Badinerie from Suite No.1
Handel Oboe Sonata in C Minor

I'm after opinions on a final piece to add.......

Toyed with the Hindemith or Plog.

Look forward to suggestions.

I will be recording in the New Year.

Best wishes,

The Philip Sparke Tuba Concerto? I've not found a professional recording anywhere yet...

Or the Ellerby!

(I know they're more bandy but I like them :p)

I recorded the Sparke - well, Fodens did with Jim Gourlay and I played the tutti part. I'm sure it's out there somewhere?

Ian,
How about Tuba Muckl? A fun piece, good to show off with and not all that hard to get rehearsed up.

Thanks...

Keep the ideas coming.

STRAUSS HORN CONCERTO No.1
SALZEDO SONATA
ARNOLD FANTASY
HANDEL OBOE SONATA IN C MINOR
BACH BADINERIE
GABRILES OBOE
ANDANTE AND RONDO - CAPUZZI

I'm tempted by the Frakenpohl Concertino and a tuba quartet.....

Has the Salzedo EVER been recorded????
