Hi Ken,

Yes indeed, but with the recent tours of Belgium/France and Italy (coming up) I had to put things on hold (especially rehearsals). I'm hoping the Nov recital can feature the piece.

Here's a recording on YOUTUBE of this recent performance of 'Suite Antique" by John Rutter. Charley took the occasion of this performance to exhibit some of his antique horns by using a different one for each movement. In the video he has pictures of the horn used for the movement you hear him playing. The horns used are a 1964 Salvation Army 'Super Triumphonic', 1980 Boosey&Hawkes Imperial and a 1945 Salavation Army 'Bandmaster'. All 4 valve and compensating.

Well done. Very beautiful playing. It reminds us that technique is very important, but the euphonium is first and foremost about a beautiful sound. Each horn has its own special voice. Since I play a 1981 Boosey and Hawkes Sovereign I thought I would be partial to the 1980 Imperial, but the 1945 Salvation Army Bandmaster was very impressive.
