Miraphone rotary bumper size?

Post by TheHatTuba »

Do you guys use 1/4", 5/16", or another bumper diameter on your Miraphone rotary tubas? The bumpers on my Firebird are crumbling.

I never measured it, but I used to just buy vaccuum cleaner belt and trim it to make sure the guides on the spindle line up with the lines on the bumper plate.

I've been looking for round neoprene vacuum belt for ages. Lowes, Wal-Mart, et al don't seem to have any, and the associates instead tend to direct me to wider belts. Where do you find it?
