You are correct, this is definitely NOT a 20K, and is most likely a 26K, although it is definitely in Eb.

What do you win for being right? That's clearly not a 20K.

Rookies...

Before you get too worked into a lather, the signature line is a long-running TubeNet joke. I was agreeing with you. Nice catch.

Yes, it's a 26K...Let me tell you about my 28K...

Postby bloke » Mon Jan 16, 2012 1:10 am

26K.

My 28K (4-valves) is hitting eBay this week, btw.

These large Eb sousaphones have the same exact bell (except for model stamping) and upper mouthpipe as the 14K/32K 4/4-size BBb, which is why they sound quite a bit like BBb sousaphones. The intonation (compared to some other Eb sousaphones) is quite accessible. My 28K has a significantly-worn-yet-presentable silver finish, a (faux-gold/lacquered brass) bell interior, is nearly dent-free, and newly-trued-and-nickel-plated pistons.

' will be offered under the "mid-south_music" moniker.

"We have been told by customers that this item could be a few different Conn model numbers, but we are unsure how to decide which one it actually is. If you know how to prove which model number this is, please call us at 407-647-2244 and help us assess this unit better."

Until then, of course, we will continue to advertise it as a 20K in Bb.
