Shipping Tubas
Questions for those of you who have had a tuba damaged by a shipping company. Did you file and win a claim, and How long does the process take?

1. they packed it
2. they shipped it
3. I insured and could document the value
4. the recipient kept it as it was received, packaging all
5. we filed a claimed the day of.

I decided to not go through the hassle of dealing with them. I rolled the bell out myself..and it actually looks pretty good. I learned two thing: how to roll out a bell and make it look like a typical repair shop did it, and not to ship tubas via ups...this was not a delicate tuba (older Besson). Greyhound is the only way that I will ever ship a tuba from now on. I had a St.Petersburg 202 shipped to me in just the MTS case without incident via Greyhound.
