FS: Conn 20J near factory new

For sale: Conn 20J, 1963, restored as factory new by The Village Tinkerer several years ago, and played not much since. As close to factory new as you will find. Dan did an amazing job on this tuba. More than $5,000 for the complete restoration. I have both a Conn forward bell as well as the straight bell. Cases included, two in pretty good shape, one of the bell cases is a bit “used” but serviceable.









This is a terrific horn, with a real tuba sound. I can’t play it anymore as I have pulmonary fibrosis.

$4,000 ought to be a bargain. Shipping will be expensive but not impossible. I hope you can pick it up in San Diego. jim.allen@longhornband.net for inquires.

Dan, I will never forget what I saw when I opened the cases when this horn arrived back here after your restoration. I started playing tuba in 1954. I don't think I had ever seen a brand new tuba before, but I saw one that day. It was absolutely fantastic, expensive but worth it, far better than I had imagined.
