New York Summer Music Festival 2012

Post by Jason Arnold »

The ideal candidate for this Festival is an advanced High School Student or Underclassmen in College.
One of the participants last Summer was a Semi Finalist for the Falcone Competition. He had this to say about the camp.

"During the summer I was looking for a way to keep playing, and NYSMF provided opportunities I did not expect. At the camp, I was able to get great instruction from fundamentals to advanced techniques. I was also able to perform on more than just the tuba. Students are given the chance to explore many parts of their musicianship, playing many instruments, using their voice, and even making films and plays! The faculty and staff are second to none that I have encountered, and I would definitely attend the camp again and again."

Participants can choose from 2, 4, or the full 6 week sessions.

NYSMF is a six-week summer music camp filled with extraordinary musical opportunities for talented young musicians ages 11 to 25.

* Choose from more than 50 ensembles and classes.
* Perform in over 40 concerts each summer.
* Study 1-on-1 with some of the finest professional musicians from Juilliard, Curtis, the Manhattan School of Music, the New York Pops, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, and many, many other of the world's best performing ensembles

At NYSMF, you will experience a richly rewarding musical environment that is uniquely challenging, supportive, professional and fun.

Talented tuba and euphonium players are always in demand. Orchestras, Bands, Jazz Bands and Brass Ensembles and much more are available. I look forward to working with you this summer in upstate NY. Please email me if you have any questions. And please refer to http://www.nysmf.org" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank for more information.
The temptation to quit will be greatest just before you succeed.
Regarding hard work; get tired. Good things happen on the other side of tired.
