Regional Orchestras and the "help..."

It's only recently that musicians have been listed on CD liners, and that only occasionally. Everyone else is listed though: management, sponsors, recording techs, etc.
Shameful, actually.

What's the fuss? Symphony musicians are just "note technicians". All the creative and artistic decisions are made by management.

Consider movie credits. They list the pimply faced adolescent that brings Perrier to the second-assistant grip ("second assistant grip best boy"), but not the guy whose solo musical performance will become culturally iconic for decades to come.

So, I get a call to sub in a regional orchestra that is a bit of a distance from me, but what the heck.

I have no idea who the regular tooba player is, so I look to their website.

Secretaries, administrative assistants, on and on, have credits and bios.

Not one musician is mentioned anywhere on the entire website. These folks are full time employees. They audition, sign a contract, pay union dues, etc.

Very weird.

This is the case with 2 of the Orchestras I've been with in the past. I have no problem with it, unless the checks bounce... (which, no surprise, happens)
