Jinbao semi hard case

Post by TYA »

I was wondering how sturdy is this case? Will it survive a trip in the bottom of an airplane?

Thank you I was just wondering because I was thinking about eating one of the used Jinbao F tubas and it comes with the case so I wanted to just make sure it can survive the trip to me and then I'll get a good case. If i t can survive the trip i will probable go for it.

Thank you I just asked for pictures of the case so I kind of want to see it first. I have a ton of winter cloths with me so I was going to pack that into the case too to add extra cushion. If it is like the miraphone cases i won't be too scared but if it is really badly made then it's probably a no go. I did not see that movie yet but that is pretty cool haha.

Thank you for letting me know this. Their is no way that will hold up in the plane I think this will be a no go then.

I have twice flown with tuba in such case without problems. The foam actually provides good protection. Maybe better than a traditional case as it provides cushioning and does not shatter. The main thing like any case is to put protection in the bell, so the rim does not take impact if dropped on bell end. The tuba crushing the bell with its own weight inside case is the main risk

A Greyhound bus that YOU are on is not the worst thing to ship a tuba on. Get off at every stop and check it out. Help the guy load it on.

When even my tubas have taken damage, it's due to lack of support inside the case.
The china-case wil probably add just as much ssafety as any other standard case
