Hi all,
I have a Mirafone Rose Model Solo (exact letters on the mouthpiece). My old tuba teacher mentioned that they didn't make these anymore. The Tuba Exchange website lists it with the name "Miraphone"... are they still making them, or does Tuba Exchange have a lot in stock?
Thank!

I have a newer one that I bought from The Horn Guys. It has Miraphone Rose Solo TU 27 written on it.

Roger,
With what tuba do you use the TU-27? I'm using a TU-25 on my 188, but wish it had a flatter rim profile with a slightly sharper edge.

I use a Rose Solo (TU-27) on my Miraphone 188, by Roger's suggestion (I believe he uses the Rose Solo on his 188 as well). There may be better mouthpieces to use with this tuba, but this has been good enough that I haven't had a need to try anything else.

The newer Rose Solo mouthpieces are stamped with "Miraphone"? I guess the only difference might be that mine has the old spelling of "Mirafone."

I use the Rose Solo mouthp[iece on my 188 for quintet and other lighter works where I need clarity and definition for faster passages. When I want a broader sound on the 188 I use something like a PT88 and it's a pretty good combination. I also use the Rose Solo at times on my F. It's a very versatile mouthpiece - for me.
