FS: Silver-Plated Miraphone 1291 and 3 cases

Postby Jack Hoeksema » Mon Mar 12, 2012 1:55 pm

Tubenetters:

I am selling my Miraphone 5V 1291 CC, Walt Johnson Flight Case, MTS Hard Case, and top loading gig bag. The horn and flight case is located in Boulder, CO and the hard case and gig bag are in Philadelphia, PA (being shipped out shortly). Horn can be shipped to Philly area easily for trials.

Total Package: $8,000 (market value for a new 1291, flight case, and hard case is over $12,000)

This horn plays great! It comes with the usual CC tuba issues (Eb in the staff 23, other minor pitch issues), but once you learn how to blow it, it produces a sound much bigger than its compact 5/4 sized body. The bell has been rolled out once by the gents at Baltimore Brass and it has some minor dents and dinks that come with usage. The silver plating is 95% intact. PM me for photos of the horn. This horn would be great for a high level high schooler looking for their first CC!!!

I am looking to move to a bigger horn now that I am getting older and really cant afford to have 2 CC's lying around, so I would love to move the whole package. PM me if you would like to discuss only parts of the whole deal.

This is a great 1291! This tuba really does play itself. And what a great deal! Whoever ends up with this one will be lucky to have it.

Nice pictures of the vortex btw Jack.

Hypothetically, if you were to sell the Walt Johnson case separately, what would you ask for it? I could really use one for ITEC!

Someone should really buy this horn. It looks like it's in great shape, and what he's asking is a fantastic deal. I have a 1292 (which is practically the same horn) and I love it!
