Is the finish of your stealth tuba inside and out not smooth or smoother than the average brass tuba? Have you noticed any difference in the effort required to play it compared to any brass one you have played?
Cant carry a tune but I can carry a tuba.

Gerhard Meinl once told me Meinl-Weston (aka Melton) was experimenting with a coating for the inside of tubas, as that's where all the "fuzz" eventually grows that adversely affects how a tuba plays. That was about 15 years ago; I guess nothing ever came of it.

You could probably use a vibratory polisher to polish the insides of tubes if you used the right media.
