Reynolds Sousaphone

Post by Lew »

In an earlier thread some mention was made of Olds and Reynolds sousaphones. Here is a photo of my Reynolds Eb sousaphone.

This is just back from the shop where they did a clean and service. They didn't "crack" the body, so the dent is still in the main body, but it plays well in spite of it. It is one of the nicer playing eefers that I have tried, and the nickel silver ferrules and valve caps are a bonus. It was definitely worth the $300 it cost. I would put it up against a Conn 26K any time.

I had both 3 valve and 4 valve sousas like yours. They played very good. I sold them both because the wrap was just too tight around my 250 pound frame.
