Not to reopen all that stuff from before, but if the thought is now "people ARE starting to get their tubas," that's a different story...

Hey,
He made good with me and had Jonathan send a tenor tuba out to me. Hope you get yours soon.

It wasn't meant to be trollspeak. . . I wanted to know if there was a happy ending.

Re: Anyone Ever Get Their Tuba From the NW?
Leaving aside the question of happy endings, did you get a tuba or didn't you? You said before that you did. You even said you were delighted with it. (Is that a happy ending, whatever the Urban Dictionary says?)manatee wrote:It wasn't meant to be trollspeak. . . I wanted to know if there was a happy ending.
So which is it? Did you or did you not get a tuba that satisfies you? (I believe, based on what you yourself have said on this board, that you did.)
So then, instead of being part of a solution, you decided to be part of the problem and come on here and create an entirely new thread suggesting that in your view there is still some issue, when in reality you (said you) got a tuba you are happy with, and (I believe it was) at significantly greater cost to the dealer than what you paid him.
Therefore, whatever you say you intended, you are trolling (posting to get a rise out of people on the board when nothing productive can come out of it beyond your own entertainment) with this post.
Well, you succeeded.

Re: Anyone Ever Get Their Tuba From the NW?
All trolling aside, I am legitimately interested as to whether people have heard from the NW. After months of delays and excuses, I asked for a refund nearly 5 months ago, received half around the new year, and now can't even get a response. Has there been any recent contact? I am all for compassion and understanding, but am beginning to believe that I am now legitimately out the money I invested. Please help me continue to believe this will be worked out.
(Yes, I did get the horn, yes it plays wonderfully, but it was not from the NW)

I know what a "happy end" implies... That wasn't the point of concern, but rather the racial insensativity.TheHatTuba wrote:What?KiltieTuba wrote:HAHAHA! I get it!manatee wrote:It wasn't meant to be trollspeak. . . I wanted to know if there was a happy ending.

Re: Anyone Ever Get Their Tuba From the NW?
You think too much.
I live on the west coast and might wish to get a horn in the future from BB. Nothing was personal, it was all about business. If that business has turned the corner, I would like to know about it, and that is fabulous. I certainly did not enjoy the shipping charges I incurred from the East Coast.
People always complain. They rarely offer praise for competence. No malice here.

.... that wasn't too clear given the neutral way you said it (ie. not bold capitals with emoticons...)...TheHatTuba wrote: I know what a "happy end" implies... That wasn't the point of concern, but rather the racial [insensitivity].
FWIW, most of the posts in this thread aren't really that serious and the bad pun isn't too offensive....

Re: Anyone Ever Get Their Tuba From the NW?
After reading about BBBNW and some forum members experiences buying tubas from BBBNW on tubenet, I decided to put in an order in the end of October last year with BBBNW. He told me to get a hold of him after Christmas. I emailed after Christmas. "Your tuba was ordered a while ago and I will let you know when it's close." Waited till March and emailed him again. "No news from the factory" is the response I got. In the meantime, I am reading the posts on tubenet about others that are in a similar situation. I want to get the tuba I purchased, but the longer it drags out, the less faith I have in a "happy ending." I am glad people are posting about their experiences and frustrations. The hardest part is not knowing any particulars about what is going on. Shipping, the factory, Chinese new year, maybe money. These all could be the factor, or a combination of factors. Five months after placing the order, I think I deserve an explanation. So do the other people in the same boat. Fill us in, let us see the light at the end of the tunnel. The old adage "No news is good news" is not true in this particular situation.

Re: Anyone Ever Get Their Tuba From the NW?
I also am still in the lurch with Al (and his former business partner), either for a tuba I ordered more than six months ago or for a refund which I did request but never did receive any response. Honestly it is the stonewalling I am getting from him that is leading me down the path towards legal action more than anything else. My wife (a lawyer) is pretty pissed off about the whole thing and is already collecting information to pursue the matter. The word fraud keeps coming up.
I know that Al is communicating with people via text and he has access to email on his Blackberry. I just don't see any excuses for the lack of communication. But the simple truth is I just don't know what the hell is going on because he is refusing to communicate with me.
I hope that this can be resolved in a happier way but I am running out of options and I can't sit by for much longer.

If any of you paid by credit card, you can do a chargeback and get your money back if the seller is non responsive and goods haven't been delivered in a reasonable time. For what these horns cost, I would have paid by credit card. The chargeback usually wakes a business up quickly.

But why is he not even communicating with others who ordered tubas months ago? It doesn't look good when he makes good for some ppl and completely ignores others. If he has email/text, then there is NO EXCUSE for him not to let others know who are waiting for the tuba they bought.Tubadork wrote:Hey,

There are a LOT of scams/frauds these days - especially in this economy - and they are getting craftier every year. Buyer beware

He responds to my emails within a day or two.
He is well aware of who is waiting for what, and doing everything within his means.
