Old instruments available on CD

Post by bisontuba »

HI-
Just a FYI--I just bought a 1897 Cerveny catalog that was reproduced on CD today--fantastic images and info (in German)! Also included is a leaflet of Cerveny on CD from 1847--wild instruments!

A fellow in California is doing this with other makers too--his name is Peter Adams, and he has CD's of old catalogs of : Adler, Bauer, Boston Musical Instrument Manufacturory (1874), CG Conn (1922, 1924, 1928), Cundy-Bettoney, Carl Fisher, J Howard Foote (1893), Keefer(1922, 1924), Klemm (1890), Lyon & Healy (1896), Missenharter (1883), Pollmann (1894), Rampone (1900), Slater (1874, 1915), Stratton (1893), Zoebisch (1878), etc. They are very reasonably priced--the Cerveny CD was $10 + $3 shipping. You can contact Peter at: Organologist@aol.com" target="_blank

Regards-

Mark Jones

I got the Boston Musical Instrument Manufactory catalog, and was very pleased. If you have an interest in any of these makers, I'd recommend following up on this.
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

An Isaac Fiske 1868 catalog in facsimile edition is online, including all the "rear-fire" instruments and his improved rotary valve design:

Jonathan-
I was VERY curious myself, but no Tornister instruments listed in the catalog.
