.........obviously having a very taxing time. I recommend you take 2 aspiring, have a cup of tead and a good liedown - it will soon pass.

If nothing else, take comfort from the fact that you would be in good company.

...not particularly concerned. I'm purposely coasting until America at least somewhat regains its senses - absolutely unwilling to feed the beast.

If I somehow were to manage to score an EITC, I'd consider that a "win", and a good kick in the shins to the legion chumps who buy into the murderous nonsense of "progress".

Yep, I had to pay in this year as well. And I am definitely not in the 1%. Heck, I'd be surprised if I'm in the 60%... But that's the dirty little secret. It's not the "1%" that they are really after. If you have any investment income at all, that they can get their dirty little hands on... They are after YOU. And it doesn't matter how small an amount of money that is.

I don't believe that when The Wizard speaks of "the wealthy people", that Mr. jonesmj realizes that (once the outspoken Useful Idiot-drones have been used until they are no longer useful) the Newspeak will VERY quickly "progress" to far more heavily targeting the jonesmj income level. Continued "progress" will include not just the taxation of "income", but the taxation of "property". (It doesn't take much thinking - albeit some realistic thinking - to realize that the taxation of property IS - bit-by-bit and bite-by-bite - the confiscation of property.) Finally, it should be noted that those who truly believe in "progress" (if not just a bunch of Useful Idiotic hypocrites) should enthusiastically lead by example and send in as much as absolutely possible - even borrowing to the hilt and sending that in as well (far more than currently required) to the central-elite who know far better than they do.

I am reminded of a cartoon depicting (in a huge herd of cattle) two cattle being herded ["nudged" - to use proper Newspeak] to the slaughterhouse. They are chatting with each other about "the privileged" (in line ahead of them) receiving special consideration.

bloke "Nothing is about fairness. Everything is about ultimate and absolute individual impotence. Ultimately, this sort of 'progress' can not reach it's ultimate conclusion - as it ultimately has occurred in other countries where it has been installed - without the extermination of freedom-loving incorrigibles."

truth (ie. "hate speech" according to G. Orwell)
"The reason why capital gains are not taxed as high as income tax is because the corporations that Warren invested in were already taxed at 35%... ...So now that we have considered all taxes we can now see that... ...Warren is taxed at 50%...So Warren does pay 15% more in taxes than his secretary."
