UPDATE:

PMs have been sent in the following thread:

A Little Bit of SheetMusic...

We all know how important it is for the TNFJ to stay well-informed on important, tuba issues.

That is all, for now.

Went and listened to Béla Fleck and the original Flecktones on Thursday. 4 excellent musicians on stage and almost 3 hours of extremely well played music. But asked by a friend the next day what kind of music they played, I realized I could not really answer him. I do not know what to call what I heard other than "music".

There are still-to-this-day those who will deny that the first "Earth Day" (1970) was an under-the-table celebration of Lenin's 100th birthday.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Lenin

Besides the obviously radical environmentalist agenda, the 1970 event included Vietnam protests.

Even if this were true, who cares? Like you said in a now-locked thread, clean air and water are things that everyone wants. Let's celebrate and pursue them, and to hell with any birthday parties. If Earth Day were today (the 23rd) instead of yesterday (the 22nd), would you still be bitching about it? You've already said you espouse the environmental stewardship aspect of Earth Day (remember that post? where you said everyone wants clean air and water?), so why wouldn't you be willing to celebrate and pursue those things every day of the year, regardless of whichever long-dead SOBs happened to be born?

So? According to you, Earth Day has nothing to do with the environment and everything to do with an inside joke about a long-dead Soviet. Are you saying you believe Earth Day is pointless and/or irrelevant since we should spend every day looking after clean air and water and not just one day a year? You know, clean air and water, those things everyone wants (this might be the first time I've known you to lump yourself in with "everyone", Mr. Bloke...)?
