This list says far more about you than about anybody on or off the list.
I wish I knew what the hell that was supposed to mean. I listed, in case anybody wanted to know, the top ten people who made me want to play tuba. Tommy Johnson, Jim Self and Chuck Daellenbach should have been there from the begining.
The top ten people who made you want to play the tuba isn't necessarily or even possibly the same thing as the top ten greatest players in the history of the world. By saying it so, you identify gaps in your experience. Big gaps. And maybe some other motives, as well.

Uhh, fellas -

Have you guys ever considered using some of your free time to practice?

Just a thought.

What is this "practice" that you speak of? You mean I won't land a major professional orchestra with >200 posts on TubeNet? Uh oh....

Jeff,

Just out of curiosity, what sort of practicing were you doing during precisely the same time you bothered to find, read, and respond to the posts in this thread?...and which solos, exercises, or other pieces of music were you practicing when constructing and maintaining your vanity websites?
Ha, ha... very funny.

Let me hand you some more rope...

I thought it was a bit slow on here lately but didn't think it was so slow that something this old and mouldy would be dragged up.

Oh well, long as we're on this topic; I find it astounding that Harvey Phillips never got a mention.
