Pete,

I installed DNT+ into my browser (FF-10) and it works very well. Surprised how many tracking sites are out there on most sites... not to mention the ads. Then I turned off my 'HOSTS' file to see if DNT+ would stop ALL of the ads, and it does! HOSTS file has to be updated about once each month, but this plug-in automatically updates.

Thanks for that. Image

The filters mentioned above will solve the ad problem but will not stop teachers like the Elephant getting it in the neck from parents if the members of the board keep posting lewd and inappropiate images and videos in the hope of being funny or dismissing a thread. I dont expect excerpts of full metal jacket or happy endings parodies when reading about tubas and do not see the need for them.

I do think that some of the things posted here, however well intentioned, are grossly inappropriate. However, considering that a military band is a viable option for many tuba players, I don't take issue with Full Metal Jacket (at least the first half) as many will encounter far worse than what is depicted during BCT.
That said, I would not recommend T-N to any student below college age. It is a grown-up board with grown-up discussions.

Now that "russiantuba" has started posting more often, I keep getting sidebar ads for Russian Love Match. Arghhh!

I must have missed something as I have never seen any ads that could be considered inappropriate.

This complaint is now over a year old. My topics have been and gone. This thread was posted by someone else. It needs to die. But we keep bumping it. Can this *finally* be locked and allowed to drop off of page one now that these ads seemed to have disappeared?
