The "Chief"
I'm drawing a blank, What was his real name, and when was he playing. Was he an artist for a time for Conn? And when?

Re: The "Chief"
Perhaps you're thinking of John Kuhn, who played for the Sousa band among others (check Wiki, etc.).
There were a very limited number of ornately engraved raincatchers built by Holton in the 1930's with an image of a Native American wearing feathers and surrounded by stars and stripes with the designation "The Chief" clearly appearing on the bell. Don Harry owns one of these; a rather recluse band director in Chicago owns another one.

He also had the "Conn-Chief" mouthpiece named for him.Steve Marcus wrote:Perhaps you're thinking of John Kuhn, who played for the Sousa band among others (check Wiki, etc.)
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
