I agree that the body is an Eb sousaphone... just a small wrap like some of the Eb Kings.
What's interesting is that the bell tenon looks WAAAAY too large to fit the receiver on the body. This seller usually displays pretty good knowledge of what he sells but in this case... I think the parts are not matched properly. Looks like a 20K bell to me.

Re: Not a Conn body
Actually, I think the body IS a BBb. Look at the valve slide lengths carefully....
The 3rd slide has the top 'double loop' typical of BBb sousaphones. And there is just too much tubing in the mouthpipe & first branch sections to be Eb. Dunno if the bell and body match, but I am certain the body is of a BBb sousa. If it were polished up a bit and had a close up pic of the valve section, that would greatly help.

Yeah... I think I'll to retract my 'Eb suggestion'. I've not seen a leadpipe that wraps around the valve section, either. Don't have a clue what it is but I'll still bet that the bell won't fit the body.tooba wrote:Actually, I think the body IS a BBb. .... The seller might just be 'full of beans' on this one!

Not Likely. The earlier bell was for a sousaphone. This one appears to be a recording bell.sloan wrote:http://www.ebay.com/itm/CONN-Silver-Nak ... 378wt_1099" target="_blank
