Who Made my Tuba???
As I said in and earlier post, I have just returned to playing the tuba from a forty plus year detour to the French Horn. I purchased a four piston valve Eb tuba made by Henri Gener. The spelling of the last word might be Cener or Genel or Cenel. It's very hard to read. This tuba appears to be an intermediate model, but it plays very well. The local symphony player says it's far better than his Eb. I was told by the seller that this instrument was made in Belgium, but a Google search hasn't turned up anything. Does anyone know anything about this brand? Thanks again. Wilbert in SC

The only Belgian makers I know of are DePrinz and Mahillon, though there certainly may have existed a range of boutique makers unknown to me. You might be looking at an importer's engraving, so check if the engraving says something else.

No listing of any of the four names as active anywhere in the New Langwill
