Looking for intermediate/advanced TUBA duets ...

Post by vintage7512 »

....Or maybe Tuba - Euph duets, but not trombone/euph/bassoon types with parts too high for my students to read. They love the duets I have but I need more variety and more challenging ones. I have been transcribing trombone duets down an octave, but it is laborious. Middle school - high school levels is what I need. I have "Twenty Duets from Masterworks for C, Bb, Eb, F, Viola and bass clef instruments" arranged by Alan Hawkins which is excellent - more like this I can't find. Anyone know where I might look?

Hi TUbajohn20J,

it is possible to get your "Low Down Funk", too?

Great work your duets, I like it!

Check out "Goodies for Two Tubas - Book I" by Sanae Kanda available at TubaStudio.com

There are sound samples of some of the duets and the level ranges from easy to advanced. Bunch of different styles represented, as well.

Ludwig van Beethoven: 3 Duets for Clarinet & Bassoon WoO 27
Now all 3 duets in versions involving Recorders, Flute, Alto Flute, Bass Flute, Oboe, English Horn, Bassoon, Contrabassoon, Horn, Wagner Tuba, Alto Horn, Baritone, Euphonium, Tuba, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, and Guitar. Not all duets available for all instruments depending on matches of keys and ranges. Each duet is presented in at least 3 keys. Within each duet/key all versions most often are compatible, so that many more permutations of instruments are possible than the number of actual versions. Notation in Treble, Alto, Tenor, and Bass Clefs. Notation for instruments in A, G, C, F, Bb, and Eb:
