I think Lee is it for the US. You could buy from Thomann in Europe, but shipping might be bad.

Shipping from Thomann would run you about 40 US Dollars plus the mute.

Lee has been especially busy lately and getting to email and phone calls gets difficult sometimes. Be patient and he'll respond. Last week we spoke about the mutes and there is an order on the way to his shop.

I'm shure Johannes (Schlipf) can tell you where you can get one the easiest.
Ask him (http://www.tuba-mute.com" target="_blank)
He is a really freandly person and he will help you.
(he twice drove all the way from austria to switzerland to bring and let me try his mutes. that's what I call a great costummer service!!!)

Schlipf and his mutes are great! I can recommand them to everyone!

Hello everyone,
My apologies for any communication problems. Besides being extremely busy with repairs, I get well over 100 e-mails a day, and although I eventually view all e-mails at least twice before deleting any, sometimes an e-mail, particularly if it is a difficult or complicated request, or a request for something out of the ordinary, may unintentionally get put on the back burner. If this happens, please just send another e-mail, referring back to your original one, and I'll respond just as soon as possible.

I am selling the Schlipf practice mutes for tuba in the US, and have imported one or two other model mutes upon occasion. There had been a bit of difficulty in communicating with Herr Schlipfinger, as my German is limited and his English is likewise pretty sparse. However, the good news is that his daughter, Marion Schlipfinger, is taking over the office and has excellent English skills, so this should make our transactions much easier.

The main reason that I have not yet gotten to the point of carrying the entire line of Schlipf mutes in stock, and not just the tuba practice mutes, is simply because of the number of mutes, and the sheer expense. To give the proper fit that is essential to the Schlipf tuba practice mutes working properly and actually playing in-tune, there are 17 different sizes. I sell these for $300.00 apiece, which includes shipping in the Continental US, so they are not cheap mutes by any means. And, to keep a target of 4 each of 17 mute sizes in stock means having 68 of them on hand, which is a rather large investment for a small business like mine.

I am happy to place a special order for any Schlipf mute, and will do so as soon as possible. Hopefully by early 2013 I will have the euphonium mutes in stock, as well as the other tuba mute designs.
