YFB821 in Southern California?
Is there anyone in the Southern California who has a YFB821 that I could try. I'm in the market for a small F tuba and this is one I would like to try.

One possibility might be to contact tuba personnel in this group. They might have some leads for you.

These are amazing instruments. They are made after ordering (only after paying a 50% deposit I believe), so good luck finding one to play. People have them and they keep them. I have never seen a used one come up for sale. To me that's a good sign. I will be getting one in the future when I have the cash(settled on a good 621 for now).
So bump for you, anyone in so cal have one to try?
and and old bump for me, anyone in the nyc/northern new jersey have one to try?

Re: YFB821 in Southern California?
Sounds like an amazing horn!
Has anyone played one of these, or a 621 in a quintet before?
I nearly bought a 822, but I felt like it was so much like a C tuba, that I might as well buy a 4/4 C for the price of a 822.
I'm looking for something with more of a compact sound that blends well into the other instruments in a quintet, rather than a horn that plays more of a subwoofer role.
