Looking for a toy tuba

Post by Harvsmama »

Moderators please move post if in wrong section(I'm very new)

Hey all!

I am desperately looking for a very small tuba to go with a gift for my former instructor. I have til the second week of Dec to find it, but so far, having no luck! It would be the crowning piece to the Christmas gift I am building(for lack of a better term).

I think a max of 4 or 5 inches in height would do perfectly... Brass would be preferable, but I am willing to use a model of any solid material.

Does anyone have any clues??

Do you think these would work.... I know, I asked the original question but I'm having a size complex here.... I found these and then a 2 inch tuba with case offered with buy it now and I have no desire in playing bidding wars. The figure that will be holding the tuba is 16-18in

Alright, I took the chance and bought from two different people via eBay. One is 3.5 in and the other is 2 in with a case. I will see which looks best. Thank you so much "sousaphone68" for pointed me in the direction of eBay. You are a life saver! >_<

In East Germany and the Czech republic, they make little wooden figures of angels with instruments; they are used as Christmas decoration. They tend to be maybe 2" tall. I have a few at home, but I don't think there's a tuba among them. Google for "Erzgebirge", which is the mountainous area where they carve these things.

Here's the first hit I found on google: http://www.webshop-erzgebirge.com/wood- ... tural.html" target="_blank
Although it seems to be a zero-valve tuba.

Those are quite beautiful! I will consider these if the ones I purchased today don't work out. Thank you.

Let's see if these images appear... these are the ones I purchased today. (the trombone was included)
