Flugelhorn with tuning in body

Post by imperialbari »

This one may not invite itself to become an upright soprano tuba, but it displays one more solution of the tuning in body problem:

Klaus, does the seller indicate the key of this instrument? It appears to have too much tubing for a Bb soprano. It looks more like it could be F or Eb.

Seller isn’t even sure it is a flugelhorn, but then he apparently hawks off textile attic findings at prices down to 1 Euro.

For my sense of proportions it is a Bb flugelhorn, as it is very much shortened to allow for the extra loop.
