The Bodie Tuba

Post by edtheorg »

Don't think my first post worked.
Last spring I visited the Ghost Town Of Bodie in Central California and found an old tuba and a picture of the Bodie Brass Band circa 1878 in the Visitor's Center. The inscription on the tuba bell reads (as far a I can tell):
M. Slater
Maker
42 Cortlandt St.
New York
–––––––––––
Where would I find information on this company?
Ed the org and seeker of the obscure.

Would this be the tuba in question?

Yes, That is a photo of The Bodie Tuba and thanks for the information on where to search. The museum curator took additional photos of the tuba and sent them to me.
