Christmas music

Post by tuba72 »

The church where I have been playing for a while is trying to find some suitable Christmas music for 3 tubas. I have been looking on the web but I am probably looking in all the wrong places. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Nothing real difficult as we are definitely not doing this for a living! Thanks :?

There is quite a bit of material 'out there' for two euphoniums and two tubas.

Both brassworks4.com and lowbrassmusic.com have tuba trio music.

I would shoot for some horn trios or trombone trios. The rep is somewhat or very limited. Jay Hilfiger has done some nice trombone trios found here:

Take it down an octave and you are good to go! Of course I publish them so I am a bit biased, but Jay is a really solid writer!

Too lazy to pull out my Tuba Christmas book to check, but as I recall, most of the pieces are arranged for tuba quartet, not tuba trio. Kind of hard to play 4 parts with three players unless one haz mad multiphonics skillz. :tuba:
