The Mind is Everything

Post by tubajon »

So like dude, if I wanted to try to get a job as a performing tubist, is there an age limit? How long of a hiatus since college is acceptable? Is thinking it enough to make it happen?

A age limit? I dont think their is, but its hard if you arnt the rite age. You could of gone to college for that if you was not to old or to young but you would of had to of been careful choosing. It's got to have a grate teacher or it would never be worth it.

Hey,

So, you bring up a good question, and quite honestly, the only truthful answer is that there is no exact answer. There are tubists who strive to succeed and practice 6+ hours a day and there whole life they can go without finding a gig. On the other hand, there is a graduate student from Roosevelt (according to a friend of mine who previously went to Roosevelt) who has sat in with the CSO, so it really just all depends on what you produce and how fast it takes.
