Funk!!

Anyone play in a funk band? I had an invitation a few years back to play bass trombone in an afrofunk band but couldn't make the rehearsals. Are there any tuba funkers here?

I'm about half-way there (been playing some "new hot" New Orleans Brass style in one band for about 4 years, learning Fela and JB Horns sort of songs in another group.) I have some issues with so much repetition there is in most bass lines, and also remembering when the changes actually happen!
I agree with bloke ^ - some songs work much better than others on tuba, and having a bass or bass guitar doing the repetitive parts lets the tuba really be a part of the horn line when it is right!
