Harvey Phillips Recordings Project

During the final ten years of his life, Harvey Phillips and I worked together documenting recordings he made over the course of his illustrious career. From 2000 to his passing in 2010 we compiled a list of about 210 recordings and I assembled 125 pages of documentation- much of it derived from our telephone conversations, letters, and email messages. Additional information was obtained from album liner notes. In all, I estimate we spent nearly 200 hours toward working on this project. I have begun posting some of this information on my personal website. So far, I have documented his solo tuba albums on the Golden Crest label and the two Burke-Phillips All Star Concert Band LPs (along with pictures of album covers).
