Hey, Ben.

Do you want to brag on the Nevermind Orchestra EP on this forum? I think you should, you sound great. But I don't want to out you if you don't want to be outed.

Not my thing at all, but you sound terrific. Was that all done in Satish's ridiculous apartment (I know him from another context)?

Sure, why not! It just went up on reverbnation this week. (I managed to sneak out and record my tracks while my wife was on vacation for a week... what's that they say about mice and cats?)

Thank you for the compliment. To answer your question, it was all tracked in Satish's whisper room in his apt. Tiny, tiny place. I had the honor of tracking first, then drums, both bones together, sax and both trumpets. The isolation he gets from that booth is remarkable.

I love playing orchestra stuff, but it feels great to rock'nroll.

Very cool! The most Nirvana I've listened to since 1994! Oh my God, that was 19 years ago? :|

Which tuba did you use for that?

Thanks tofu.

Bort: you and me. I had gotten rid of my collection years ago.

It's the 163, setup with 2 dif MPs, plus 4 mics on the horn, the two I remember: EV-20, and a NT2. More than you wanted to know.

Great recording! Whoever played lead t-bone on Smells Like Teen Spirit did a great job a mimicking Cobain's vocal idiosyncrasies, imho.

Also, very Nirvana appropriate picture!

FYI - for those in NYC - you can hear the EP and more LIVE Friday, February 15th @ Sullivan Hall ~Midnight! You can even hear some of the stuff I arranged for the group that isn't on the EP.

Even more fun... I'll be using THIS NEWFANGLED BEAST
