Re: Wide rim euph mouthpiece?
I'll try and post a picture of a mp I got with an old Alex F soon. It has a medium shank, and is a bit shallower than a 1.5G. Very weird on F, but powerful euph and not as awkward as the tuba rimmed tenor tuba mps.Grooving for Heaven wrote:Looking to see what options are out there for a euphonium mouthpiece with a very wide rim. The wider the better.
Oh, and to make things stupid hard, medium shank please...
If none are available in medium, tell me about large ones because I'm thinking of selling the besson and moving in a different direction

Doug Elliott does a wide version of nearly all his rims. I find them really comfortable.
He'll also provide you with a shank to fit the medium bore receiver.

With my 3 piece system I can make anything you might want.
And yes I have a WIDE rim option. Not many people actually want or need that, but it can be useful if your mouthpiece placement is such that you have room on your face for it, and if you need more cushion to bridge dental issues and put the pressure on gums instead of teeth, or something like that.
