An idea: BlokeReceivers?
I realize I am going out on a limb invoking the name of bloke. However, he and his machinist Dave Houser have been turning out some top quality products. There seems to be virtually no standardization among mouthpiece receivers. I have seen many instances where someone has installed the much more complicated (and expensive, and heavy) AGR for the sole purpose of getting a tuba to accept "normal" tuba mouthpieces. What about making one or two sizes of "Bloke Receivers" that are friendly towards modern mouthpieces?

Three Words: Adjustable Receiver Taper
ART (tm)
When the cost of a mouthpiece isn't enough to make your horn go, modify the horn. Brass players are always willing to pay more for the latest gadget. Get one or two big-name endorsements and you are set.
If you combine an adjustable gap into this device, you could market the new RATAGAP (tm) and make tens of dollars.
