This sums it all up nicely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVYpCdY4Y_0
I used to play this at each time change day - it worked well with my early Sunday morning radio show!
and for a musical Time Treat (with helicon and euphs) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZiSfUxDCXI

Indiana, too.goodgigs wrote:I was reading through this new piece and went for a page turn and there was measure 3:00 where 2:00 should be !
We had just passed measure 1:59 before the page turn so I was confused and then the conductor announced that people on the east
side of the band had to change time signatures before the rest of us and band members from Arizona could just
ignore the change as if it wasn't there !! ???

Re: Time changes !
When I moved from eastern time to central time, I did it on the spring forward weekend. I didn't lose any sleep or have to change any clocks. That year, I beat The Man. Unfortunately, that has been a number of years now. If I kept doing that every year, I would probably be in Hawaii now. Which wouldn't be that bad of an idea...

When my band flew to Japan a few years back, the trip started the day before my birthday - but because we crossed the International Date Line at about Midnight I lost my birthday that year. Does that make me a year younger?MartyNeilan wrote:When I moved from eastern time to central time, I did it on the spring forward weekend. snip

Last time I visited the USA I got to LA before I left Brisbane!
Coming back was a really long trip.
Here in sunny Lizzieland we just stay on standard time. Years ago daylight savings time got voted down as the extra hour of sunlight would make the curtains fade.
