Re: Rocked In the Cradle of the Deep - parts
There are two arrangements on bandmusicpdf.org. One is march-sized by Hayes and the other is for Bb cornet or baritone solo by Rollinson.
Both are for full band. The Hayes one utilizes the cornet part as the conductor part. The Rollinson one has a condensed score.
I believe they are public domain. If have trouble downloading them, send me an email.

Thanks. I'll compare that to the Rubank solo edition and see if it's compatible.
I should've been more specific. It's the DeLamater arrangement published by Rubank.

In that case, "lending" you a copy would be against the law and money out of Rubank's pocket. It's available to buy all over the web. Just buy it.

Um, nope. Not illegal to lend.Todd S. Malicoate wrote:In that case, "lending" you a copy would be against the law and money out of Rubank's pocket. It's available to buy all over the web. Just buy it.
Money out of Rubank's pocket, yes. But lending a purchased, copyrighted work is not illegal.

Yeah, fair enough. But, I have to wonder why one would need to "borrow" the score AND PARTS for any purpose that is NOT illegal. Maybe I'm just the suspicious sort.Uncle Buck wrote:Um, nope. Not illegal to lend.

Incorrect. The only thing currently in print is the piano reduction. The full band arrangement is not in print. I checked with my account rep at Hal Leonard to be sure.Todd S. Malicoate wrote:It's available to buy all over the web. Just buy it.

Whoops. Well, that certainly changes things. My apologies.jacojdm wrote:Incorrect. The only thing currently in print is the piano reduction. The full band arrangement is not in print. I checked with my account rep at Hal Leonard to be sure.
I had a similar experience recently looking for the orchestral score/parts for the Peskin trumpet concerto #1. It's simply not available anywhere. I wound up arranging the damn thing myself.

Because copyright law DOES NOT require one to OWN a copy of a work in order to perform it: if it did, it would be illegal to perform a rented or a leased work; nor does copyright law require one to own a copy of a work in order to study Copyright law only requires that a performer who wishes to perform a given work publicly or to record it obtain the required public performance or mechanical license and that the performance or recording be executed from a legal copy of the work; and performances and recording that qualify under criteria set forth in Title 17, Chapter 1, Sections 107-112, 117, 119, 121-122 of the US Code are specifically exempted from the requirement to obtain a performance or mechanical license.Todd S. Nope. Whether or not a copyrighted work is available for purchase has no effect on the legality of lending a legal copy of the work.Todd S. Malicoate wrote:Whoops. I was talking about my comment about how the work is available to purchase, not the legality of lending. I apologized.pgym wrote:Nope.
