+100 -- This is BY FAR the biggest cause of a tuba playing bad... assuming the waterkey cork is in place and there aren't any serious leaks.

Even minor valve alignment problems compound since there are usually three or more valves.

How do you know if your valves are out of regulation (alignment? is that the same thing?)? (Aside from bringing it to a tech?)
