One I always hear is "LAZY." But if I wanted to be lazy I would have picked something smaller and easier to carry. Here in Colorado you can always tell directors that are familiar with low brass and others that definitly put weak musicians on tuba. The stereotypical "high minded" director always will turn a blind eye to the low end of the band and then wonder why they are not getting the compliments on their group they want at festivals.

People also think tuba players play simple parts so we must be "DUMB." It even happends all over main stream Hollywood. Think about the last time other than the movie "My Girl" that a total doofus was not put as a tuba player.
