Re: Update Update
I had a hanging light over my bar fail last week. I found the problem to be corrosion in the connections to the screw fixture on the ceramic socket. I replaced the socket and went about my business. Yesterday I saw one of the kitchen fan bulbs blinking and traced that down to a socket connection as well. In 45 years of messing with home lighting I have never seen that before and now twice in one week? Has anyone else had this issue?
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Re: Mizzou
The forums that I frequent regularly (dealing with motorcycles and tubas) all have guidelines regarding posting conduct, and my two most common ones have the underlying agreement: No political discussion. Just because there is a forum, and we communicate with words, "Free Speech" is within the bounds that the global "we" agree to by registering and posting. When posts are pulled or locked, it is often because some loss of civility has taken place in the back and forth, or other guidelines established have been violated.
Simple posting guidelines do not a communist state make.

Re: Update Update
The decline in the bee population has been really severe of late. I don't think people realize how important they are and how dependent we all are on them for our well being.bloke wrote:"earth day" at blokeplace:
It's springtime, and some honeybees are making new queens leaving the rest of their hives (and the old queens) behind and swarming - looking to find new homes. In the last few days, we've captured three swarms and started new hives. Here is another one (which Mrs. bloke is capturing as I type this). This one should be easy, as it's only two feet off the ground. (The last one that we did was about thirty feet off the ground in a cedar tree. I suited up and helped out on that one.) Mrs. bloke is doing this one by herself.
She's taking two frames full of honey out of ANOTHER hive (yes, opening an ACTIVE hive, knocking off the bees, and taking out the frames), and putting those "stolen" frames in a single-stage hive (otherwise filled with empty wax frames and sprayed with bee pheromones) for this swarm. She'll probably trim off the branch, drop it (or "pop" it) into the new hive, let the bees get situated for an hour or so, and then seal up the hive for a few days (until the bees think of it as "home").
I took this picture wearing no bee suit, and only about two feet from the swarm.
Will a bottle of honey be included with every Blokepiece purchase
Update Update:
What is very alarming is Bloke doing his part for the benefit of mankind via bees. The end of the world must be near - BEE PREPARED
