drone CD recommendation

Does anyone have one they recommend? Availability on iTunes a plus.

I just use a drone pitch app on my iPhone. Not perfect, but much more functional. I use a single ear bud with the other one open. I have pages of drills I wrote to use with the app. Also, it's only a buck.

If you have any version of Finale (Notepad is free if you don't), just make your own!

Tie a string of whole notes together and create your own pattern, and then you can export it as a MIDI file. If you have a Mac, you can drag and drop the MIDI file into Garageband (or whatever program you might use), and then change whatever sound or wave works best for you (if the Finale midi file doesn't cut it). I unfortunately don't know what programs are available to PC computers, other than Finale Notepad itself.

Takes 15-20 minutes to do, but saves you some money, and gives you the power to customize and tailor it to your needs.

You can use Audacity(free software for Mac/PC) fairly easily with the "Generate Tone" feature. You can set your length and put them in any order you want.
If you want to buy a CD, I highly recommend "Tuning Tactics" by Chase Sanborn. The drones are a great quality. The CD is all based on 440hz tuning, but again you could throw it into audacity if you wanted to create a version of it at A=442, or something else.

This is the drone CD w/book that I have been using and it is FANTASTIC!!! I know lots of pros around Chicago are using it as well as several studio teachers around the US....it works fantastically!! I will be using the student edition next year with my private students.

I downloaded this $0.99 app and while it doesn't have a whole lotta bells and whistles, it really helps me out with quickly getting my ear warmed up (especially on the F) with just a few scales along with a drone of tonic and 3rd or tonic and 5th. I pipe it through some good speakers.

Hah! Sorry about that Wade; totally missed your link. Yeah, I use the earbud too but we have a nice set of monitors in the jam space at my house and I can really slot those notes right in.
The monitors are also great for play-along tracks right from my iphone (through the P.A.).
